Geometric by Adii of WooThemes is a portfolio/blog theme with an emphasis on strong typography. The theme uses a completely widgetised homepage, which makes it very easy to adapt the layout to your requirements.

I liked the subtle use of slanted widget headers which created a sense of direction across the page. With 10 colour schemes included, there’s probably one to suit anyone’s taste. Overall, I’d say that Geometric is an innovative theme which will appeal to a wide range of bloggers.

Image Blogger is an attractive 3-column blog theme by Zidalgo which provides an attractive backdrop for text and/or image content. Brad Mahaffey, the designer behind Zidalgo, uses this theme to run the vector showcase blog Blood Sweat Vector, which acts as a perfect demonstration of this theme’s potential.

Image Blogger is great for a personal blog, but it would also work well for a group blog as it provides an image-based grid listing of authors with their personal avatars as well as individual author archive pages.

Modfolio is a free child theme for the Modularity framework by Graph Paper Press. Modfolio transforms Modularity into a dark design, with a textured dirty blue background.

Modfolio provides ten possible homepage combinations, including display options such as a slideshow, latest portfolio post thumbnails, category post thumbnails with excerpts. Theme colours, advertising code and contact details (for that nifty contact drop-down menu) may also be edited in the theme options page.
