Photo Graphic is an elegant photo blog theme which would be ideal for photographers, artists, gallery sites, etc. Its structure is reminiscent of Press75’s popular VideoFlick theme, though Photo Graphic distinguishes itself by the use of a charming wallpaper background, transparent content areas and larger homepage posts.

The theme also features the use of a lightbox script which activates when clicking on the post thumbnails on the homepage or single posts. It’s a great feature but seems quite slow to load.

Eventina

Eventina is a news / magazine theme by Themes Closet with a great deal of functionality. It has a clean, professional appearance which would lend itself to an authoritative news portal.

The homepage promotes 3 featured posts in a special coloured header section, followed by a featured post excerpt next to a list of featured post titles and thumbnails (these posts are selected either by category, or with the use of specified tags). Additional recent posts excerpts are provided below the featured section, with large comment icons to encourage reader interaction.

The sidebar begins with a category menu which may be displayed in one or two columns as preferred. A tab section displays Popular Articles and Tags, and Recent Articles and Comments, followed by wide or half-width widgetized blocks.

It is clear that a lot of consideration has gone into the usability of this theme. For instance, Eventina doesn’t require custom fields for the automatic resizing of images used in posts, but there is an option to do so if you were already using them with your previous theme. You may also choose custom thumbnail sizes for the homepage featured posts, archive and sidebar tabs.

I also liked the elegant separation of blog post comments, trackbacks and pings via a jquery tab interface.

My only suggestions for possible additions to this theme would be support for those popular 125px ads (in addition to the 468×60 option), and that perhaps the special content box in the footer might be widgetized for great flexibility.
