Genesis is an advanced theme framework from StudioPress. Although it is possible to use Genesis on its own as a normal theme, it works best as a parent theme used with child themes which provide additional design, structure and functionality. Genesis provides a stable, secure and easy to use foundation for your site.

For the advanced user or developer, Genesis provides 30 custom hooks to work with. Genesis also provides search engine optimization and six default layouts (single / double sidebars on the left / right / both sides of the content, full-width), custom widgets.

Child Themes

Two child themes are currently available, with more on the way. Designers are also being invited to submit their designs to a planned marketplace for child themes.
